A Touch of Color uses a variety of different paint brands and finishes or sheens. Here’s a list of them to help you decide which is best for your project.
Flat – is a paint with no sheen to it and is normally used on ceilings. It is not very washable.
Eggshell/Satin – is used in approximately 80 – 90% of our jobs. It has a low – medium sheen. This is a great choice if you have children! It is washable.
Semi-Gloss – this sheen provides more of a shine than eggshell or satin, but less than a gloss paint.
Gloss – is the highest sheen of paint and is extremely shiny.
We normally use the following brands of paint:
Benjamin Moore, Hirschfield’s, Sherwin Williams, Seikens stains and sealants, and also Rustoleum. The products we use will provide the best coverage and durability.
For exterior projects we have used latex and solid stains. Solid stains go great on wood siding and provide excellent coverage on cedar siding.
